The name “Torreale” comes from the ancient manor surrounded by the vineyards, which is expression of a long story rich in know-how.
For decades, day by day, we have been carefully and passionately looking after each single vine cultivated on the winery’s benchlands in the Colli Orientali del Friuli area: from dormant pruning to spring budbreak, from summer pruning to harvest.
The quality of our wines is given firstly by hand harvest and secondly by a careful vinification at controlled temperature in the stainless-steel tanks of our cellar.

A land that tells its story through its wines, from the Eocene origins until nowadays, going throughout the marl-sandstone layers featuring this typical terroir: we are in the Friuli Colli Orientali appellation area, within the province of Udine, extending from the municipality of Tarcento to the one of Corno di Rosazzo and electing as main cultural and oenological center Cividale del Friuli, a UNESCO World Heritage medieval town.
Thanks to its position, this land is particularly suitable to grape growing: it is protected from the cold northern winds by the Alpi Giulie mountains and it is open to the southern mild sea breeze of the Adriatic Sea. That’s why the wines made here, especially the whites, have become famous worldwide for decades.
The favorable temperature range and the sun exposure of the vineyards on the benchlands, that have been skillfully shaped by generations of winemakers, help the grapes growing healthy and facilitate the development of an important suite of aromas that you will feel in the glass.
The vinification in stainless-steel tanks highlights primary aromas and minerality, giving life to elegant white wines and pleasantly tannic, velvety red wines.
